songs in the bible: songs of praise or songs of shame?

There are many songs in the Bible – sweet and bitter ones indeed, majority of which, one is confused of their essence and or where to categorize them under praise or shame and that made it difficult to dance to them! Yet they are believed to be inspired words of God or the Holy Spirit or his only begotten son.

The Bible teaches that: “All scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy3: 16.

It is thus incumbent on Christians to apply this verse to every statement in the Bible and what one get may be seriously embarrassing. And because the majority of the songs have few reasonable things to dance to, Christian Churches have devised thousands of songs to evade the useless one taught by the Bible. It is very difficult if not impossible to find a church singing the verses of Biblical hymn in their fellowship/‘worship’ as Muslims recite the verses of Quran in their Salat/prayer which reveals the degree of abhorrent they have for the songs.

In exodus 15, it is stated that “Moses and the Israelites sang a song of victory over Egyptians to the Lord: “I will sing to the Lord, because he has won a glorious victory…the Lord is a warrior ….he threw Egypt’s army and its chariots into the sea…lord who among the gods is like you? Who is like you wonderful in holiness? Who can work miracles and mighty act like yours”? Exodus 15: 1-18.

But as sweet as this song is when one read the antecedents of what led to exodus of Israelites, one will see that there was neither holiness nor miracle in what they turned to song of victory but wickedness, pre-planned evil and shameful show of power by the father of Christ who has become watch-dog for Israelites and behaved so crude to other tribes he created himself. Of cause, one will hardly believe that God of Israel is God of nations of the world, as father of Christ totally lost his gaze to the survival of Israelites excluding any other. Reading exodus Chapter 7: 3-14 unlike what is found in the Quran, the Bible states: “And the Lord said unto Moses, see, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh; and Aron thy brother shall be thy prophet…and I will hardened Pharaoh heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh shall nor hearken unto you that I may lay my hand on Egypt…and He (God) hardened Pharaoh’s heart, that he hearkened not unto them, as the Lord had said….and in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up for to show in thee my power…” Exodus 7: 1-4, 13: 9: 12,16. So obstinacy and evil of Pharaoh was God’s made! It was deliberately ingrained in him by Father of lord Christ. Then is Pharaoh to be blamed and did this call for song? And if a song is sung, then is this truly song of victory?

The song of Moses in Deuteronomy 32: 1-52 has few reasonable things to dance to! But the Psalms- Song of David would have been a unique to celebrate and dance to in the Bible for its praises but unfortunately it is heavily garnished with all sorts of nuance; sarcastic, ill-will and un-imaginable magnitude of curses that make one shivers to the marrow! Consider this:

“Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise. For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me with a lying tongue…And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. Set thou a wicked man over him; and let Satan stand at his right hand. When he shall be judged, let him be condemned; and let his prayer become sin. Let his days be few; and let another take his office. Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg; let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places. Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour. Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children. Let his posterity be cut off; and in generation following let their name be blotted out. Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the Lord; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. Let them be before the Lord continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth…let my adversaries be clothed with shame and let them cover themselves with their own confusion as with mantle...” Psalm109: 1-31.

Imagine this is the song of David, the great grandfather of Jesus – lord of Christians.

Because of interest of Christians around the world for this great curse, the Gideons International has knowingly added the books of Psalm and Proverbs to its pocket size New Testament Bible despite that the two books are not New Testaments. They have included it there so that it can be used to curse their enemies more importantly, the Muslims.

The miraculous song of praise sung by Paul and Silas was ‘so powerful’ that it broke them loose of their shackles! Even though Jesus did not sing once to produce a miracle neither did he recommend that. What he prescribed as producer of miracle is fasting and prayer (Matthew 17: 16-21). One is only worried about the period of night the miracle of the song took place. Daytime miracles after the demise of Jesus are scarce among his disciples - what is generally known is that the god of darkness works better in the dark.

And of all the 8 chapters of the Song of Solomon one will find it difficult that such obscene expression exist in the Holy Bible and the essence cannot be understood. It is oxymoron that such horrible and sex language is engraved inside the heart of holy book of the Christian faithful!

Reflect on this: “How beautiful are your feet with shoes, O prince daughter! The joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman. They navel is like a round goblet, which wanteth not liquor; thy belly like is like an heap of wheat set about with lilies. Thy two breasts are like two young roes that are twins. Thy neck is as a tower of ivory; thine eyes like the fish-pools in Heshbon, by the gate of Bath-rabbim; thy nose is as the tower of Lebanon which looketh toward Damascus. Thine head upon thee is like Camel, and the hair of thine head like purple; the king is held in the galleries. How fair and how pleasant art thou, O love, for delights! This thy stature is like to a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes. I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof; now also thy breasts shall be clusters of the vine, and the smell of thy nose like apples; and the roof of thy mouth like the best wine for my beloved, that goeth down sweetly, causing the lips of those that are sleep to speak… come, my beloved, let us go forth into the field; let us lodge in the village……..”Solomon’s Song 7: 1-13.

How many Christian churches sing any of these songs during their service/worship and can a Christian parent sing these to the hearing of his/her child? – Inspired word of God, indeed! That justifies the lessons one would learn against the claim of Apostle Paul, that: “All scriptures is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” 2 Timothy3: 16. Yet the song is an imagination that has inspired thousands of Christian and faithless people to share the spirit and habit learnt from what they gain, it is the path of their salvation, sing dirty song, lost your morals but just have belief that lord Jesus has died for your sins and you will enter Paradise, others do not matter! That is the common song of shame in Christendom!

The content of the only song sung by Jesus was not written. This is a disaster, because it would have been the most, if not the only meaningful and thoughtful song to be continuously sung and even danced to. But unfortunately all what we read about it, is: “And when they had sung a hymn, they went out into the mount of olives”- Matthew26: 30. Since the content of Jesus’ only song was not recorded, all other songs, biblical or Christians’ composed ones are songs of nothing but, songs of shame because of their disregard for Christ tradition, which indeed raised the suspicion whether Jesus truly sung any song at all, after all he was not reported to have danced unlike what we have among Christians of today as well as in Churches.

This again makes the Muslims who are opposed to song and dance better believers in true Christ and his true followers than the acclaimed followers –Christians in their anti-Christ song, deeds, worship and belief, even rebuffed by Jesus’ father saying: “I have hated; I have rejected your festivals, and I shall not enjoy the smell of your solemn assemblies, I shall find no pleasure on your communion sacrifices, I shall not look. Remove from Me the turmoil of your songs and melodious sound of your stringed instruments may I not hear. And let justice roll forth just like water and righteous like a constant flowing torrent”. Amos 5: 21-24 {NWT}!...but justice and righteousness have little or no true space in Christianity.
