Espionage is no doubt, an act practiced by all countries of the world well pronounced between those who see themselves as rival or at war. It is a good strategic in that regard but as good as it is, there must be limitation and restriction to the act especially the one whom one owes a trust or in friendship with. With such people there is no cause for alarm or intrusion into their affairs so as not to erode their dignity and damage their moral values and not to create unnecessary enmity and rancor which will deprive society of its peace. It is on this note that Islam gives certain preventive orders so as not to fall into its debilitating snare.

The Prophet of Islam said: “I was sent only to complete the noble moral qualities” and of this he said again, “Among the beauty of a Muslim, is to stay away from all issues which one is not concern”

He indeed gave a stern warning: “Beware of suspicion for verily suspicion is the most false form of speech…do not envy each other, and do not hate each other and do not eavesdrop on each other and do not spy on each other….” (Bukhari).

Allah says: “O you who believe! Avoid suspicion for suspicion in some cases is a sin. And spy not on each other, nor speak ill of each other behind their back. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay, you would loathe it. So fear Allah, for Allah is Oft- Returning most Merciful” Q49: 12. All these make Muslim individuals and nations behave themselves.

Of course, there is no doubt that most kinds of suspicion are baseless and must therefore be avoided because some are crimes in themselves as they create problems for man, they do cruel injustice to innocent men and women, like what Iranians people are experiencing in the hands of US and its allies on its nuclear ambition and like the disaster, destruction and misery it has brought to Iraq at the hand of US against false allegation of WMD possession! Spying into other people’s affairs such as friends and innocent and peaceful men and nations is unnecessary curiosity and is therefore futile and mischievous – the similitude of it is stated – ‘eating the flesh of one’s brother even as dead body’! That is serious abomination!

What else can we call the US spy on the head of states of Germany and Brazil which are even allies? And even if US could do such horrible things to its friends, there is no doubt that the worst has been done, and is being done to its perceived enemies the Muslim world leaders, only they are been docile in their subjugation.

As it is to Islamic teachings so it is to the morally upright minds, those who have respect for human dignity and who have spark of truth in them. That is why there were responses from reasonable quarters such as Brazil, Germany, France, and Malaysia. For example President Dilma Rousseff of Brazil said at UN General Assembly: “Tampering with other country’s affair was an affront to the principles that must guide the relations among friendly nation…we face Mr. President, a situation of grave violation of human right and civil liberties; of invasion and capture of confidential information concerning corporate activities, and especially of disrespect to national sovereignty … the argument that illegal interception …is intended to protect nations against terrorism is untenable…”. David Cameron said: “A lack of trust could prejudice the necessary cooperation in the field of intelligence gathering” (BBC News 28/10/2013). Angela Merkel, the German Vice Chancellor, said, “Once the seeds of mistrust have been sown it doesn’t facilitate our cooperation…it makes it more difficult”. Unfortunately, evil mind of cause knows no friend for selfish end! And as this may seems as abomination to Muslims and Islam, and distrust, immoral, irresponsible, distrust, hypocrisy, and unjust act to reasonable and just people around the world, not so to the Biblical God!

THE ACT:

Some of the US' best secrets are out since former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden released thousands of classified documents about government surveillance in one of the most significant leaks in US history. US global network espionage made every country a target of intrusion and intercepts, which involve corporate information of high economic and strategic value of every country. US ran bases in countries/capitals to intercept transmissions from foreign satellites, surveillance carried out through partnership between telecoms firms and US agencies, major companies and foreign visitors routinely targeted. National Security Agency (NSA) accessed all internet content and telephone communication not of ordinary citizens but presidents of countries even their friendly ones. Indeed UK’s Guardian newspaper reported that it obtained a confidential memo from the NSA suggesting it had monitored the phones of 35 world leaders. Like elsewhere in Brazil, NSA intercepted the president’s communications, hacked into the state owned Petrobas data company’s network and spied on Brazilians who trust their personal data to US telecom companies such as Facebook and Google. “A Spanish newspaper published a document that shows the U.S. National Security Agency spied on more than 60 million phone calls in Spain in one month alone, that is alleged massive U.S. spying on allies…And has been eavesdropping on German Chancellor Angela Merkel's own cell phone, and her communications were being collected since 2002. (Yahoo Finance News 21/10/13). William Binney, an NSA whistleblower told Yahoo News Crew that after the 9/11 attacks, surveillance also became more pervasive at the local level…The New York Police Department (NYPD) began a programme with the help of two former CIA officials, to survey Muslim life at all levels: mosques, cafes, infiltrating organizations and student groups. (Al Jazeera, 7 Nov, 2013).

Unfortunately enough, US is not the only state that perpetrate this distrustful and betrayer act, it has other accomplices with which they form ‘Five Eyes Agreement’! The initial top-secret deal signed between the US and UK in March 1946, later referred to UKUSA Agreement formed for the basis for intelligence cooperation and was later extended to cover Canada, Australia and New Zealand’ all Bible based governments dominated by Christians with very deep animosity against Islam and Muslims. They champion the gospel and church funding across the globe. That was why, based on a story in the Sydney Morning Herald, which reported a top-secret map that showed 90 US surveillance facilities at diplomatic missions worldwide… including in Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand” - Malaysia has summoned the heads of the US and Australian missions in protest at spying allegations, Likewise China and Indonesia have already demanded explanations from Australia over reports that Canberra's missions were being used to monitor phone calls and collect data as part of American surveillance. (Yahoo News, 2/11/2013).

But why have they gone too far to this end, what is their inspiration? Evangelist Zegers have the answer in his book, when he writes: “ …the laws in the West very much used to be based on the Bible… the people’s understanding of what is evil is still very much rooted in God’s view of evil as declared by the Bible”(1). So what this ‘Five Eyes’ have done and are doing is not Biblically wrong! But is there any evidence for that, we may ask? Truly we found profound few!

Jesus’ father set the pace:“ And the Lord spake unto Moses saying, ‘send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel, of every tribe of their fathers, shall ye send a man, everyone a ruler among them. And Moses by the commandment of the lord sent them from the wilderness of Paran…And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan…” Number 13: 1-20.

Act of spying practiced among Jesus’ apostles:“And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage” Galatians 2: 4.

Celebrated as an act of faith by Paul: The same Paul who criticized his holy spirit filled colleagues for spying on him celebrated and changed the act of betrayal of trust by the harlot named Rahab to act of faith, saying: “By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she received the spies with peace” Hebrew 11: 31. But when one read the story of Rahab who harboured the two spies sent by Joshua to spy the city of Jericho in the whole Chapter 2 of the Book of Joshua , one who wants to become super-spy to ‘James Bond’ will be well inspired and equipped to get certified. And because it was Jesus’ father who charged Joshua the evil task, using a harlot, traitor for act of betrayer, for the victory of his only people, all is well, it has become act of faith that made her due for salvation, based on tricky agreement!

Jesus made use of spy: Jesus himself exhibited the trait of his father as he ordered the spy of Jerusalem when he wanted to enter the city. He sent two of his disciples to go and spy the city and even to bring him an animal! (Mark 11: 1-7; Luke 9: 51-56)! This and many more are the sources of US action.

WAY OUT:

German Justice Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, who understood US hypocrisy said it all that the Americans were using the information to gather economic intelligence apart from terrorism and that the deal, popularly known as the SWIFT agreement, should be suspended… as possible leverage, German authorities cited non-binding resolution by the European Parliament to suspend a post-9/11 agreement allowing the Americans access to bank transfer data to track the flow of terrorist money, (Yahoo Finance News. 21/10/2013).

It was this dubious and evil dominion that made the US and EU opposed to the countries advocating greater ‘cyber-sovereignty’ control, pushed for at the International Telecommunication Union in Dubai in December 2012. But it is clearer now that the earlier the better those countries struggle and suffer for their choice of internet service protection, the better it will be before they are finally held in the shackles of US and its allies forever. That was what Iran has understood as it continue struggling for it survival in all sectors. Brazil seems to be more determined as it would present proposals for a ‘civilian multilateral framework’ for the governance and use of the internet and to protect web-based data. And indeed, the President has ordered a series of measure aimed to divorce itself from the US-centric internet and at greater Brazilian online independence and security. If victims of US espionage could come together on this they would surely break through by endurance. The EU has vowed to set a framework for the future, and putting an end to monitoring mechanisms that are not controlled. (BBC News 28/10/2013).

All what US is doing to the global community especially Muslim nations, it cannot tolerate. There is no doubt that injustice, double standard and aggressive foreign policy will lead the world into chaos and disruption soon or later if not addressed rightly.

The very act which US used to criticize has become its own practice, that is, government interference in private firm operation. US is using the privilege that these companies belong to its citizens or are in control of its technology to gain access into and interfere in people rights and privacy. They are in charge and must oppress and do as they wish! Such behaviour has been foretold by Allah: “O you who believe! Take not My enemy and your enemy for friends, offering them love, while they disbelieve in the truth which has come to you and drive out the Messenger and yourselves from your houses merely because you believe in Allah your Lord…If they get upper hand of you they show themselves to be your active enemies, and will stretch forth their hands and tongues against you with evil intent; and they ardently desire that you should become disbelievers” Q60: 1-2. This cannot be disputed by the West or any conscious person with spark of truth in him.

The world especially, Muslim world is in danger if it continue to trust its source of information and its security to the hands of children of god whose excesses has no boundary and common evil to man is not before their god. That can never let them cease hacking into others nations’ privacy, or do some evils at will. What they can do at any time has been revealed in their neck breaking sanctions against Iran on mere suspicion of nuclear ambition and their destruction of Iraq on false allegation of Weapon of Mass Destruction. But it is not that really, it is the hatred of Islam and technological advancement which they’ve seen in some Islamic States that they want to kill! They lead in demonizing Islam and its adherents, and they are the centre of Islamophobic evangelism.

The global network need to be fractured and let each state make choice not co-opted into single one managed by dubious and unjust people in their erroneous belief, if not, there is great danger, which Falk clearly pointed out in his article: “If the world were composed of equal sovereign states and a global rule of law existed, the United States would have meekly apologized and, at the very least, promised to refrain from such behaviour in the future. Snowden would have been chastised for breaking American law, but commended for bringing to the surface some ugly encroachments on freedom and constitutional order, including within America, that shows how dangerous it is to leave the balancing of security and civil liberties to the good faith and judgment of bureaucrats and politicians”(2).

Yes! Not that alone, but the danger in handling life and sensitive information and security to a single unjust and gluttonous nation. If US makes that promise it would never be kept satisfactorily, because what it is doing has support in the leaders’ book of inspiration and clan of the bureaucrats – the Bible. They will surely do it again even the worst although may be in another form! It is only Quran that can cure the disease of their minds implanted by age long faith derived from the error, hatred and evil filled book of faith-the Bible.
